Spring Creek Basin Mustangs

Hayden knew I needed a shot of that big wide open, and so he consented to mosey away from his band for a bit so I could include his magic presence.

In truth, he just likes to mosey. Here, he’s walking back to where they were still hanging out with me. 🙂

We were in a far eastern part of Spring Creek Basin, and this is looking across to the La Sal Mountains in southeastern Utah.

In this time of everyone’s lives being turned upside down and inside out because of the coronavirus and efforts of people to stay healthy and keep others safe by staying home, I wish for you all some brief peace in the form of these images from Spring Creek Basin.

Out here, it’s still possible to believe in the goodness and beauty and magic of the wild world.

The weather was lovely for a nap. There was a skiff of snow in the morning, but it didn’t last long.

The Denver news weather woman talked about coming weather that might feel more like winter than spring. … Like that would be a bad thing, especially because we in the southwestern corner of the state are wondering who stole our winter.

Bring the rain, bring the snow! Just bring the MOISTURE!

Though we’d like to see white all the way to the horizon, it’s good to see snow on those not-too-distant peaks.

I mean, really. Only if the land were covered in life-giving winter white would that be a more heavenly view.

Kwana was moseying along grazing … when he realized that his girls weren’t exactly keeping up. Rather than wait for them, he returned to them.

It really is the girls who rule the family. 😉

What do you suppose she’s looking at? What do you suppose she’s thinking about whatever it is that she’s looking at?

Whatever it was, it occupied her attention for a couple of minutes. Then she went back to grazing. What a quiet, peaceful, beautiful life.

Skywalker moseyed through the shadscale following his bachelor buddy. He was less interested in glamour shots than in his path. I took a few shots and backed away from his greatness. 🙂

Yeah, it was kinda like that last night.
