Juniper is most lovely against a stormy sky. While we didn’t get any rain in Spring Creek Basin, we could see curtains of rain around us, which had to be nice for those folks and critters getting it. Maybe soon we’ll get our due (which is kind of a lot, truly).
(And somebody must have been getting storms because the power went out before I could schedule this last night to post this morning!)
Hayden is proud of himself after running off an intruder who thought he’d cut in line to get to water. He wasn’t really too close, but Hayden thought he’d be the enforcer of the water-hole etiquette anyway.
Shadow keeps an eye on her band, drinking in the arroyo below, and on the photographer. Just in case, you know, *something*.
If Killian looks a little grumpy … and like he’s hiding in the shade of a tamarisk in a deep arroyo in Spring Creek Basin … well, who can blame him? He doesn’t know the numbers, but he knows it’s hot. Our mercury hit at least 98 yesterday, and triple digits are on tap this weekend.
Storm starts the march that leads to the descent that takes his band to water.

Bonus points if you spotted the white spot on the hill behind Hayden’s band and realized there was another band up there. 🙂 They came later; mustangs have a great sense of etiquette and are very polite when it comes to manners. (At least, Spring Creek Basin mustangs are that way!)
