I’m not normally a person given to repeating quotes, but I saw this one the other day, and it resonated with me deeply:
“The grand essentials to happiness in this life are something to do, something to love and something to hope for.” Attributed to Joseph Addison.
For me, happiness centers around mustangs, in particular, the mustangs of Spring Creek Basin and Disappointment Valley. They give me so much more than mere happiness. 🙂
And your mustangs are so very lucky. After looking at the WHE videos of the latest roundups it makes cristal clear that this little herd is one of the few that actually live free – without being harassed & threatened – maybe the only one.
A bit of luck … a lot of hard work and good people. I don’t think we’re the only ones. … I think, as with most news, the bad gets the headlines.
Yes you do have really good people & lots of hard work – I’ve seen the posts of the water tank building etc. I realize we only see the bad in the headlines but so many herds have been removed – some entirely this year. Reading the excuses the contractors give for “euthanizing” a lot of OLDER horses that have lived well until rounded up plus so many young & old that may be blind in one eye – survived just fine while free but not given a chance after roundup. This isnt “managment”!
Mustangs do fulfill that definition of happiness, don’t they, TJ – for anyone who would let them into their lives.
Exactly so. 🙂
and your love and devotion to the mustangs is a gift to all of us 🙂
It also gives me great happiness to share their awesomeness! 🙂
So true!
🙂 🙂
Nice quote.
Fantastic photo too.
Thanks.
Thanks, Uncle Tom! 🙂
You are the one to be there!
Blessed and grateful. 🙂
