If that view doesn’t bring your blood pressure down, I don’t know what will. 🙂

Killian watches his mares just as the big ball of light slips behind a hill at the end of another beautiful day in Spring Creek Basin.

Those mountains – Utah’s La Sal Mountains – have lovely capes of white now. It’s fascinating how that little (!) difference makes them look even closer (is that like painting a room a light color makes it look bigger? maybe I’m getting that wrong …).
Do you think Maia enjoys having them, ever fixed, on the horizon of her range-homeland (home-rangeland?)?
Today is the last day of this year’s third rifle hunting season. If I may take the liberty of saying so, we’re all going to enjoy our peaceful horizons, hunter-free, in just a few more hours.

OK, so it doesn’t really ding-a-ling-ling, but her little mane mud ball is awfully cute all the same. 🙂

The prediction of snow was correct. Snow fell lightly on and off throughout the day. And because the air and the ground were so warm, the snow melted right into the thirsty ground. So it’s not white out there … but it’s wonderfully wet!
Mud isn’t very photogenic, though, so you get to see Mysterium from a couple of days ago. 🙂

Because the post below this one published before I intended (!?), let’s try it again. And maybe, in the morning – this morning, hopefully – when THIS one posts, it will reflect what’s on the ground … again.
Above is Temple, seen the last time it snowed in the basin, a couple of weeks ago.
We’re due to get snow in the night and during the day today, and we can only hope!

Or ring-around-the-hill. 🙂 Madison checks the coast (for clearness) while Tenaz negotiates his way around the slope.
By the time this post publishes this morning, we should be getting snow?!
