Our part of Colorado – back in severe drought conditions – didn’t get the snow that other parts of Colorado (and other states!) got with yesterday’s cold front, but our temps dropped … from lovely 70s to lower 40s. With bright sunshine, and cottonwoods along Disappointment Creek starting to show some gold, it was gorgeous weather here. … But we’d sure like to have some moisture.

Storm’s “do” is growing out, but it still stands up pretty straight and thick.

Glowing. Reya. Knee deep in autumn forage.

Pretty Piedra contemplates the one admiring her while she swishes some late-season flies during our still-warm autumn days.

Kwana’s mane isn’t as short as Storm’s, but it’s not naturally that short! It looks like someone did a somewhat ragged job of pulling his mane ahead of a domestic show.

Most magnetizing, though, is that stunning blue eye. Both of his eyes are blue. Another natural mystery – and wonder!

Unfortunately, that promising sky did no more than add drama to this scene highlighting beautiful Chipeta. She doesn’t like to show off, but we know her elegance.

Lovely Spirit is just the cutest! Can you see in the pattern of her coat that she’s starting to show some fuzziness?

Life is made up of these quiet moments. Add wild horses and a stunning background, and you get that quiet magic that can fill us so fully.
