Spring Creek Basin is dry again, and the “whispers” of spring aren’t so soft. In fact, they’re pretty strong. That snow in the background is far beyond and far above the basin, but it is a good sign for area watersheds.
Madison and her friends are still wild and wooly … though that hair is starting to shed.
And that green? It’s coming up all over.

Oh, so handsome: Tenaz the wild stallion. He’s a curious, curious critter.

At the end of a day, the La Sal Mountains were blue with distance and dust. But they’re always gorgeous with a trio of wild horses in the foreground! They were watching another band leave the pond that’s out of the frame in the closer foreground.

We still have some snow left – in high places and in shady places. The past many days have been gorgeous and spectacularly sunny. We’re looking forward to rain/snow in the forecast today and possibly Tuesday!

Fuzzy and muddy … and wonderfully handsome. 🙂

Winona bit off a big bite of snakeweed, and was trying to maneuver it into a chewable portion while watching the other horses of her band a short distance away. Her funny face is a reminder to not take things seriously *all* the time. 🙂

Ty was warning Copper away from his family. He never had to resort to violence, but he did have to move quickly a few times.

Copper was visiting beyond his family and making a general nuisance of himself, but it resulted in unusual action shots of the boy (usually, he ignores the camera in order to continue the important business of grazing), so that was kinda fun. 🙂

Chipeta pops up during grazing in the backcountry of Spring Creek Basin. It was a gorgeous day to hang out with marvelous mustangs!
