Happy Mother’s Day!

Chipeta, Temple Butte

Big love to all moms, for taking care of us, supporting us, encouraging us, loving us!

Today, we thank you for all that you do for us, and we hope in turn that you feel cared for, supported, encouraged … and LOVED! 🙂

Particularly, I thank my mom. She’s the best! 🙂

Mariah and Winona, Temple Butte

Mariah and Winona nap in the breeze under a passing cloud in front of beloved Temple Butte.

Skywalker

Remember my recent chortling about battling stallions and how we don’t see much of it?

That’s not to say that we don’t see ANY of it!

Young Master Skywalker is in one of his phases of actively seeking a mare, and he has the bloody lip (and jaw and cheek – and a few other places) to show for it (“it” being his lack of success … so far).

Skywalker

The mares seem pretty content where they are, and with whom … for the time being. But it’s only a matter of time for this young studly.

Kwana and Puzzle

This was another through-the-window shot, and Puzzle and Kwana are on or very near a road as it curves around above an arroyo from my position.

They must know how amazingly beautiful they are?? 🙂

Houdini, Maia and Alegre

Another sight to soften the heart and keep alive the desire to protect at all costs.

Kestrel

Seeing spring coats revealed is better than Christmas morning. 🙂

The very best view: wild ponies against the far hills.

Even the most beautiful mustangs aren’t shy about making funny faces. 🙂

You’re not tired of Sundance photos, are you? 🙂 Isn’t he glorious?

Just one last look

Hollywood

This is literally the second-to-last frame I took on a recent visit to Spring Creek Basin. The sun was going down, and although it killed me to leave as the light was so delicious, responsibilities called.

Mr. Hollywood made the most of a through-the-window shot. 🙂
