I think – I hope – that these pix truly are worth 1,000 (or more!) words … but I’m going to give you a few more anyway. π
This is the east-pocket pond, aptly named as it’s located in Spring Creek Basin’s east pocket. This isn’t the only pond that suddenly has water after Thursday’s tremendous downpour, but it’s the only one of which I have a “before” pic.
“Before” was a little after noon on June 27, a few hours before the four-hour deluge. “After” was about 26 hours later on June 28.
Maybe, if you look closely, you can see a band of greys at far distant left in the pond-now-full pic. Fortunately, the horses have multiple sources of water now. It’s amazing how quickly things change (for the better, in this case!).
I’m so glad for you AND for the horses & other wildlife.
Thanks, Maggie. We are so grateful. More in the forecast today and tomorrow. π
Now that is so wonderful to see! Instant ponds. Glad for you and the ponies, TJ! π
Instant ponds! How cool would it have been to actually have seen the *filling*!? π By the noticeable changes in the basin, it must have been a humdinger!
Such great news TJ !! Isnβt it amazing the change in everything including oneβs perspective when you just add water !
“Just add water”! π I love that! Yes, everything changes with a bit (a good bit!) of water. π Including perspectives and anxiety levels.
So glad for the water! Mother Nature is being good!
I hate to say she *owed* us … but she kind of owed us after withholding for so long! π
Fantastic!!!!!

In a word, that is it for sure: Fantastic. π
After is the best!!
Whew – very much the best. Hope your “after” means your home and those of your neighbors are safe!
Evacuation was lifted this morning . I’m home. There is still a strong smoke smell. The firefighters did an excellent job keeping our little community safe. No homes lost! The fire was stopped less than a mile from my place.
Wilderness is less than a mile North of me. The fire started West and blew East towards town.
The fire sure has changed the landscape. Hopefully Winter rains will change that.
Oh, that is the very BEST news! I’m so very thankful that you and your pets are able to return home … and that you have a home to return TO! The fire was close?!?! I can’t imagine how stressed and anxious you’ve been. Thankful to the firefighters for all their hard work. Your community must be so relieved! β€οΈπ¦
