Light-kissed

21 05 2024

So-pretty Aiyanna. The light loves her … and so do we.

Near and far

20 05 2024

Watching Buckeye sauntering toward his mares under Rowan’s neck made for an interesting perspective.

Mane day

19 05 2024

Another windy day. I think the mane faeries love windy days more than any other days.

Home, sweet home

18 05 2024

One more of Hollywood from that gorgeous evening high on the ridge below Brumley Point. What a handsome boy in a glorious place. We should all be as lucky as Hollywood. 🙂

Not-so-baby Bia and mama Aiyanna. Pretty, pretty.

And what a view

16 05 2024

As seen from the road inside Spring Creek Basin’s western boundary, a few bands graze in the northwest hills above/beyond/north of Spring Creek canyon.

With water in places in the creek arroyo and good grazing above the canyon, it’s no wonder the bands were taking advantage of the location. (And I can attest that the views are spectacular *from* up there, too!)

Oasis

15 05 2024

Skywalker passed his bandmates to find undisturbed water upstream in the Spring Creek arroyo.

The creek isn’t flowing (alas); this is water forced to the surface by bedrock. It WAS enough water to satisfy both his band and two or three other bands – at just about nearly the same time. That’s amazing.

Mutual lovin’

14 05 2024

Friends are priceless! (Especially in the spring, especially with those itchy bits that you just can’t reach!)

Dundee and Rowan spent several minutes mutually grooming each other on a very quiet, very lovely and very peaceful evening in Spring Creek Basin while their bandmates grazed.

Winner: Best nap spot

More Hollywood. … Yes, he was very relaxed on this very windy, dusty, hazy day in Spring Creek Basin. 🙂

Juniper and a winged friend

12 05 2024

These little butterflies are everywhere lately, trying to find our few wildflowers, doing their best to further the pollination in this very dry spring. I didn’t realize I’d caught the butterfly with Juniper until I saw the image on my computer later. 🙂 Both bright spots of goodness!

**********

Speaking of bright spots, we got a nice drizzle of rain yesterday! I’d love to have more (you know I always want *more rain*!), but at least this bit of moisture will help our grasses and other vegetation, not to mention those water catchments.
