Apollo and Mysterium are half-siblings, sired by Kreacher.
Apollo is 7 months old now.
Mysterium is 4 months old.
Little feisty wily girl has figured out that she can play with big brother … and that mama is nearby if he gets too rough!
It starts with a bit of nibbling on the shoulder …
About halfway through the game, he decided he could rear up, too.
She did a lot of this …
… and a little of this, but she never actually kicked out at him.
A little more teasing …
… some more near-synchronized rearing …
… and the warning from mama Kootenai (you can just see her pinned ears) …
that led to this:
!!
But it was all good in the end …
And they lived happily ever after. 🙂

Amazing photos. Is it just me or Mysterium looks a little bit like Pygmy goat? So cute ❤
Ha – she does a little.
Adorable! I love these! They have so much fun out there…
It’s good to have siblings. 🙂
Love the “kids” at play.
Loved watching them!
The ones of them rearing at the same time are beyond adorable!
Just a question TJ. I saw this article (http://dsc.discovery.com/news/2008/10/08/horseplay-mothers.html) About mares playing more with their colts then their fillies. It makes sense, but I was wondering, have you ever noticed anything like this?
I haven’t seen this yet, but I have heard about it, about a year ago, I think. I can’t really say either way from my observations – but I’m not specifically watching for it. It’s not often the mamas I see playing with the foals as much as the stallions and/or siblings (both same age and older), though. Mamas seem a bit more long-suffering. 🙂
I enjoy following your site. Thanks again for all that you do. I really appreciate the calendar and the time you spent to make it happen. You are one dedicated lady. Hope to see you again sometime out in the basin.
