We have the blues

In the very best way!

The (falling) snow has moved out, and now we have those fabulously famous Colorado bluebird skies, which make the snow even MORE gloriously, stunningly white. We’ve now had more snow in this storm than we got all last “winter” – aka the winter that wasn’t. Life is good. 🙂

Warmth

Hollywood and Shane

Hollywood and Shane wait out the snow under some pinon and juniper trees. They couldn’t have known, but it would continue that evening and night and all the next day.

Lower Disappointment Valley now has at least 10 inches of snow covering the drought-parched ground!

Madison and Temple

Madison and Temple don’t let a little snow phase them. They’re designed by Mother Nature to take everything Old Man Winter can throw at them! And we hope the old man sticks around this winter ‘cuz we sure need the moisture!

As of around 5 p.m. last night, we had about 5 inches of snow, and it was STILL coming down. 🙂

Happy New Year!

May 2019 bring moisture and all things good to our wild ones.

Gaia and Storm

Hope everyone had a marvelous Christmas holiday! After a joyous trip to visit my family in Texas, I returned to Colorado – to snow! It’s a sight for sore eyes to see the countryside under varying depths of white stuff – moisture in frozen form. Hopefully winter will grace our dry, dry country. It looks good on the land. 🙂

Happy New Year’s Eve!

Pretty as a picture

Juniper; Brumley Point

Beautiful grey girl Juniper watches another band in the distance.

That’s Brumley Point in the distance behind her. It forms part of Spring Creek Basin’s southeastern boundary.

Raven

Raven was giving me a devil of a time trying to catch her in a good pose (not eating, butt turned toward me or walking away). Finally, I caught this shot of her looking over a bandmate’s rump. Gotcha. 🙂

The lightness of being

Storm

Storm has a spring in his step and a lilt to his tail as he walks back to his band from his chat with Sundance.

Model good looks

Cassidy Rain

Cassidy Rain is a stunner, especially when she’s posing so prettily.

She was watching a lone pronghorn buck in the distance and was focused intently on it as it surveyed her band and others in the area.
