Tenaz strikes a handsome silhouette as he walks across the basin to chat with some youngsters.
Those clouds above the La Sal Mountains herald the arrival of another wave of moisture for our region. We’re not complaining. 🙂

Shadow clears the coast before leading her band ahead. They weren’t at all worried with their leader on the watch; they had already settled down to graze.
It was a muddy, muddy hike to get to the band in the basin. Still lots of moisture in the ground! And more rain in the forecast. 🙂

Very full pond in Spring Creek Basin.
🙂 <– all smiles –> 🙂

We had nearly a day yesterday of not-white wet stuff – aka rain. 🙂
Days like the one pictured above, just a week or so ago, are days of the (very) recent past.
Days like that could come again. After all, it’s March in Colorado, and March in Colorado is typically the wettest month in Colorado. 🙂
Moisture is moisture, and we in winter Colorado love moisture because it means summer Colorado – particularly in our high-desert southwestern corner of Colorado – will reap the benefits.
More rain is in the forecast. 🙂
And the wind is howling … !

Reya, perfectly at home.
Our snow is gone, but our ground is SOGGY again. We got at least half an inch of rain yesterday, and news from up-valley is that Disappointment Creek is *raging*! This is good for our coming year.

Went back and forth … finally decided to note that today is the sixth anniversary of Pati Temple’s passing. Even if you’re a new reader, you likely have picked up on how special Pati was to us and the mustangs of Spring Creek Basin. For Christmas, we got the news that Temple Butte’s name is official. It’s bittersweet that we honor her that way. We’d definitely rather have her with us … but she is, an angel with us always.

Chipeta shines. 🙂

Gaia-gorgeous.
Just that. 🙂

It looks like he’s watching me, but Killian was watching some of his band coming out of the trees behind me. I was glad of that … otherwise, he wasn’t posing at all like the handsome mustang he is. 🙂

We live on the most beautiful planet in the universe.
Fact. 🙂
On behalf of this country that values freedom, thank you to our veterans … for your service, for your dedication, for the freedom of us all.
