It wasn’t until nearly midnight that I realized I had completely forgotten to schedule a post for this morning. … And I could *not* make myself get out of bed to remedy the situation. So this is late, but I hope it gives you a bit of a chuckle on a Sunday morning.
The grey on the right is a stallion, and the bay on the left, a bit ahead, is a stallion with another band. One thing I noted particularly about the mares is that they’re napping so close together, they were all touching, even in the heat (there was a bit of a nice breeze).
I think we’re all tired at the end of summer … all waiting for the rain the forecasts promise and doesn’t fall.
Here’s hoping the coming week’s forecast is at least *partially* accurate!
Such great color coordination ! All females should band together these days šŖš¼
Women are underestimated to the detriment of those around us. š I have great admiration for my own sisterhood of women!
Great picture! Even their butts are cute!
Ha! Some butt shots ARE cute! š
A family all together – comforting each other.
Those girls are tight. š Also, the black mare is the grey mare’s daughter, and the grey stallion is the bay mare’s son. The older mares are besties and have been together nearly all their lives, and the black mare is basically their third bestie.
Should make clear to anyone exactly what family means to these horses! And how roundups destroy them. So many people completely unaware of Wild Horses or their lives.
How cute! The girls are very colorful all pressed together for their nap and under the watchful protection of their stallion. And yes, TJ. Is the forecast predicting rain going to be a lie again. I too am tired of rain that never comes.
Did you get rain this morning?? We got a HELLUVA toad-gagger. My broken ditch has only just stopped flooding from rain that started at 3:30 a.m., stopped, then came again at 5: 30 with a bang – a lotta bangs and cracks and booms … lots of lightning, too – all directions. Wowza. I can’t wait to see what the basin looks like. Dawson Creek is running; I’m sure Disappointment and Spring creeks are running! Surely this put rainwater in the catchment tanks. … I am crossing all fingers and toes that it MAYBE put some water in some ponds??? But yeah … the forecast for any rain had dwindled to the point where I seriously didn’t expect anything at all. Ha. š
Strangely, we had quite a thunderstorm with lightning last night! (In NYS)
I saw those very black clouds over where you are and wondered if you were getting rain. So glad you did, TJ! How wonderful. We’ve been getting – you can probably guess – the ever-dreaded wind. No rain. Just wind. Maybe later; I’m still hoping.
Wonderful pic TJ. Rain here now. Hope you have it too.
It POURED here around 5:30 a.m. (and also rained a bit at 3:30). Flooding. The basin will be off-limits for a little while. š And I still hope we get more rain all this week!
Yayyy!!
