These pix are from sunset Friday:

Virga and rain (see it at lower center-ish against the far ridge?) from Spring Creek Basin looking west/southwest toward the far southwestern ridge(s) of Disappointment Valley.
Saturday:
It rained. π ACTUALLY rained. And for at least an hour (in at least some places).
OMG, the relief. … The gratitude.
It started with thunder and lightning, though, so hopefully the nearly immediate rain put out any fire(s) that may have started. …
Us too, TJ – real, actual, glorious rain! A very nice soaker. We are so grateful for this answer to prayers. Looks like we’re in for a week of late monsoon activity and we could not be happier. Rain on the Stoner Mesa fire has allowed 24% containment as of Friday. π
I hope we get more. Nothing today, but I was cheering Mother Nature yesterday, I’ll tell you! π Glad ya’ll also got a nice soaker!
41% containment seconds ago!
So great that rain fell over the fire and containment is up! I never believe the radar anymore, but when I looked yesterday, it was NOT raining over the fire. I laughed and hoped that it was just wrong again! π
So glad for the rain at last! Hope a lot more is headed your way!
“At last” is right! SUCH a huge relief. I wish it would have rained today, but at least the temp stayed in the 80s with mostly nice cloud cover. So happy and very hopeful for more!!!! π
So glad for all of you getting the rain – we are getting some today too – but boy, you guys really really need it and more of it.
Glad ya’ll are getting rain, too. A friend in Ontario, Canada, was telling me how hot and dry it was there; I couldn’t believe it! π¦ Hope we all get as much as we need!
It’s truly scary all across the country and until our “leaders” get pushed out of their comfort zone – it will stay that way.
oh thank goodness…
Every drop helps! π
