We got rain. đ
A lot of rain.
Enough rain to change the contours of the arroyos and drainages and, in some cases, the roads.
How much rain? In at least one place, a bit more than 2 inches, which fell in roughly seven hours.
To give that some context, we got 2 inches of rain between April and late July (!).
This apparently came from Tropical Storm/Depression Harold, which missed my folks in Central Texas and swooped north to the Four Corners area. Harold, we thank ye!

I think it’s also greening up again. Already. đ Wow. We love rain!
Two inches in 7 hours! That is impressive and for us high desert dwellers, an unexpected bounty. Wonderful! We’re experiencing some rebound greening too with this bit of monsoon. Your photos are beautiful, TJ; the Basin is showing signs of revitalization. đ
Isn’t that crazy?! I think the grass has already grown between 6 inches and a foot. đ
HOORAY!!!! So happy to hear this.
Thanks, Puller. đ
Such a gift ! Hoping the dry earth was able to absorb it all ! Thank you Harold đŚ
Well, there was a LOT of runoff. But by the grass – I’m really not kidding – a lot DID soak in. What a great guy, err, storm, that Harold. đ
So glad for the rain!
Such a relief! đ
Wonderful pictures – different than back here in the East.
A bit different, yes. đ
We got rain, too. And today is humid. I was out with Bear and my sweat didn’t dry. What’s up with that????
Glad for your rain, too! And wow, right?! That *humidity*! I do not like it … for all that it’s normal in Texas. … I’m definitely a dry-heat kinda girl. đ But if it means rain, it’s OK. … The mosquitoes now out? Hm. … Not super happy about those critters (!).
I had deer flies, horse flies and flesh flies to walk with today. Nary a skeeter…
Yayyyyy!!Rain rain !! We got it too. So glad you did toođđ

True words … in so many ways. đ
