Kestrel is still sporting her winter fuzzies. And a good thing because we’re supposed to get … you know what’s coming … more snow! Maybe rain. After a couple of days of super-wind, it’s hard to go back to snowflakes!
As I’m scheduling this post the night before, though, the wind is howling, and the dust is so awful and terrible, the sky looks like those pix posted not long ago that showed snow coming in the background. … I’d rather have the snow! Hopefully it will dampen this dust and return our glorious blue sky. π
She knows when to change into her spring coat! Not yet, I guess!
Not yet, for sure. The wind is still howling, and the temps have dropped at least 30 degrees from yesterday (60s) to today (30s or lower?!)! And yes, we have snow. π
Kestrel is a smartie to have kept her fuzzies! A high of 32o today and snow on the ground. And that wind WAS bad – dust bowl worthy and chilly. It’s supposed to make a reappearance today. π
Gotta love Colorado, eh?! π It’s usually windy in the spring, and every year, we seem to get those dust-bowl days like you mentioned … but it was hard to see after our moisture – and so soon.
We know how you feel Kestrel. All night the wind howled. Itβs a good thing you kept your winter coat on longer! π

Lucky ya’ll! It has been screaming here for days; yesterday was particularly bad. Still pretty strong and very sharp this morning. I hope the horses have found the low and sheltered places.
I hope so too. Itβs been going on here for two days and nights.

Those gorgeous mustangs are smart enough to hang onto their winter coats for a bit more!
Definitely smart! Along with the snow, it is COLD again. And that wind! Razor sharp and unceasing. … Well, it’s more moisture, if it can seep in and not all blow away! π
Yes, the wind could go!
Today was better. Still cold. π
Such a sweet face. We had dust storms yesterday that — let’s just say I was grateful I wasn’t driving in it. The road past the Sand Dunes was closed because of — you’ll never believe it — blowing sand…π€£
Kestrel IS a very sweet and wise girl. π Our bad wind and horrible dust happened Monday. Ugh. With your proximity to the Great Sand Dunes, I’m sure it was really awful there!
Monday was the worst day here, too. Terrifying, in fact. The road that goes from Alamosa past the sand dunes was closed. The big problem is the fact that all the fields have been plowed so, yeah, dust everywhere.
I’m repeating myself. :p
It’s bad enough when the wind is blowing snow … but sand?! Definitely not a good time or place to be on the road.
Love this girl!
She’s very high on my favorites list. π
Beautiful!
Very. π I always love seeing her!
