Do you see what I see?

This big group of elk was on the southeast shoulder of Filly Peak in the western part of Spring Creek Basin.
Winter is the season of elk in Disappointment Valley, where we have less snow and the livin’ is easy (or relatively so). 🙂
Magnificent creatures! Magnificent photo, TJ! I’m always amazed at how those guys manage to fasten themselves to the steepest of hillsides without a care in the world.
It was crazy to see them bunched up like that, on the side of Filly Peak. I’ve walked around it before … but lower!
Oh wow TJ!! What a wonderful sight!!

Pretty cool, right? 🙂
I love it! It’s elk time here, too, and deer.
Very cool. 🙂 I saw deer chasing turkeys – and vice versa – today! Inter-species game of tag. 🙂 How are the birds on the refuge? Open water? Snow coming here the next couple of days.
What a picture ! Elk are so dramatic at the places thy choose to go. You got this !
I’m used to seeing them in high places (they like to hang out above Spring Creek canyon, too), but that edge of Filly Peak looked a bit precarious?! They seemed comfortable … on account of being completely sure-footed, I’m sure! 🙂
