Relief

20 11 2021

We are weary but unbroken; third rifle season is over for another year. Thank goodness.

The view is great from here

19 11 2021

What did Sundance see when he crossed the arroyo?

A view all the way to Utah!

Mesa girl

18 11 2021

Red-gold Gaia-girl in a golden land. Just nappin’ in a little breeze.

The days are warm again, though we have ice on the water troughs in the mornings! Rain would be much appreciated. Snow can’t be far behind. … We hope!

Vision on a ridge

17 11 2021

Wild and free in a wild place.

Stepping out

16 11 2021

Piedra and Kestrel are nearly synchronized in their steps. Interesting how that happens.

Soaring

15 11 2021

What our hearts do in the presence of mustangs.

On a mission

14 11 2021

Why did Sundance cross the arroyo?

To graze on the other side, of course!

Well rounded, well fuzzed

13 11 2021

Lovely Mariah is ready for whatever winter throws at us this year. It’s supposed to be another bad one for our part of Colorado (“warmer and drier”), but the mustangs will take it in stride. At least our ponds are full!

Blank space

12 11 2021

That “blank space” behind Tenaz is a pond. Is water. … WATER.

Not so “blank,” eh? 🙂

Veterans Day

11 11 2021

Thank you, veterans, for your commitment and your service in support of the freedoms we enjoy as Americans.

From the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs:

Veterans Day continues to be observed on November 11, regardless of what day of the week on which it falls. The restoration of the observance of Veterans Day to November 11 not only preserves the historical significance of the date, but helps focus attention on the important purpose of Veterans Day: A celebration to honor America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.
