Even winter snow ponies get itchy bellies now and then and need a handy greasewood on which to scratch! This was at least the second greasewood so abused by Seneca while I visited. Meanwhile, Killian thought they served better as forage than as a scratchy stick (he was eating the twigs). πŸ™‚

Multi-purpose greasewood. It never ceases to amaze me how those mustangs always find what they need – whatever the purpose – in those desert lamdscapes!

After looking at the horses at the stable with their mud covered bellies from racing around in melted snow and earth….this may be nature’s curry comb. πŸ™‚ It might also be a precursor to losing that winter coat and finding the best tools available for helping rid oneself of old hair. I’m already finding tufts of deer hair…the longer light causes all animals to lose their winter coat in spite of what Mother Nature says.

Yes, despite the nighttime cold, they’re already starting to shed. It’s amazing how much longer the days already are. I suppose I think that every year. … At least this year we have snow to carry us to spring!

“Landscapes”…. not lamdscapes. Don’t know what those are. 😁

I love how much Nature includes ‘one stop shopping’ so often – LOL
