It is with great happiness that I say PZP had nothing to do with this timing … just like it didn’t with Alpha … Jif … Chipeta … nor of Kootenai being now seemingly later. And the PZP-22 Raven got in 2008 certainly didn’t throw off her “normal” spring foaling schedule. While the timing of administration can have some effect on the cycle of foaling, that is human-caused. PZP does NOT cause late or “out-of-season” births! And I was thinking about this, too, recently: The mares that have changed bands in the last few months are NOT mares that were darted. In other words, so much for PZP being the cause of mass chaos. Oh, how I love dispelling myths about PZP with real-herd observations! 🙂
She’s HUGE! Isn’t she late in producing this foal? Was she a PZP mare? She is beautiful regardless.
