Quality leadership

6 11 2021

Two-year-old Dundee has been the bravest of her friends from the very beginning, when she was the first to leap off the trailer to Spring Creek Basin’s welcoming embrace. She’s also taken on the role of protector of her year-younger friends with gusto, and Rowan and Aiyanna look to her for leadership.

Meanwhile, Buckeye finds that managing a band is a far cry from being a bachelor, so he catches his naps when he can!

Golden nappers

5 11 2021

Gaia and Juniper enjoy a nap in the last light of the day before wandering off to graze as sunshine gave way to night’s shadows.

Coming soon, don’t forget to turn your clocks back. The mustangs don’t know a thing about time change … or time at all, of course. They know there’s never a bad time for a comfortable nap in the quiet sunshine!

Gold close to home

4 11 2021

In a land going taupe at the end of the year, Hollywood’s dun coat shines with gold.

Flip, lit

3 11 2021

Just a spotted little lovely for your Wednesday. You’re welcome. 🙂

Emerging

Shadow, in particular, likes to think that trees can hide her shadowy little self. … Not so much. 🙂

That ol’ wind

1 11 2021

There are no bad hair days in the wild!

Boooooooo-tiful girls!

31 10 2021

The only thing spooky in Spring Creek Basin is how completely it and its residents have stolen my heart. 🙂

Happy Halloween!

The clearest blue

30 10 2021

When I’m fortunate enough to hang out with Kwana and his band, I usually try – usually in vain – to get a clear pic of his clear blue eyes.

The eyes of horses are amazing. Kwana’s are fascinating!

Superpower saunter

29 10 2021

Lovely ladies Alegre and Maia walk past a very full pond in Spring Creek Basin.

At this time of the year, to have full ponds, it is SO amazing to have water in ponds, let alone full ponds!

Happy birthday to my mom!

28 10 2021

My mom is the strongest woman I know, and she comes from a long line of strong, self-sufficient women. She put off cataract surgery this year until after haying season because the eye doc had told her she couldn’t drive the tractor (too bouncy-rough). But it doesn’t stop her from getting out and feeding the animals or harvesting garden vegetables (yes! her Texas garden is still going strong) or baking yummies for the church’s fall festival this past weekend. 🙂

I love you, Mom! Have a wild and wonderful birthday!
