Two-year-old Dundee has been the bravest of her friends from the very beginning, when she was the first to leap off the trailer to Spring Creek Basin’s welcoming embrace. She’s also taken on the role of protector of her year-younger friends with gusto, and Rowan and Aiyanna look to her for leadership.
Meanwhile, Buckeye finds that managing a band is a far cry from being a bachelor, so he catches his naps when he can!
Oops that did not go through I guess!
Thanks for the continued story of the new ones to the Basin. They look good.
They’re doing really well and exploring farther afield!
Funny! I was wondering how the threesome was doing as I opened this. Thanks, TJ – they look great. So glad they are ok – probably need an older “protector”.
They were with two other bands in close proximity this weekend, and nobody was alarmed in the slightest. When the other two bands started heading toward afternoon water, Buckeye and his girls followed.
Good to see them all so healthy and content ! Theyβre pretty special !
They’re special, indeed. π I still get excited every time I see them!
Love these new girls. Looks like they are settling in well.
I think they’re settling in VERY well!
Those new girls are looking like they’ve always been in Spring Creek Basin! And beautiful Buckeye. Living in a whole new world with responsibilities and extra work seems to suit him…even if he needs to rest a little now and then. π
Yep, you’ve hit the nail on the head – “like they’ve always been in Spring Creek Basin!” π They’re right at home.
Love how mustangs work out their hierarchy for the herd benefit!

They definitely do. π
The girls look great. Yes, mares will do that to you…wear you out.
Ha – I think they’re pretty easy on him, and he’s not a micro-manager. He’s turning into a very good and capable band stallion. π
