The Ferris Fire is mostly contained. 🙂 I have to think there’s been a huge sigh of relief for the rains, combined with the huge effort from more than 1,000 firefighters to set containment lines in those first few weeks when conditions were SO hot, dry and windy and it seemed like they/we couldn’t catch a break.

Winona is a always a mustang goddess.❤️ So glad the Ferris fire is contained and road repair and other mop-up processes are going on. It will be shocking to see these favorite places post fire in 2027 when that part of the forest opens up again. The places we knew a d loved will never be the same. 🥺

They’re definitely putting the fire to bed and gettin’ ‘er all cleaned up. So thankful it wasn’t worse! Hope we get some more rain next week. … We still need it badly.

Prayers and wishes of safety for all those firefighters working on the Gold Mountain Fire – and all others. A daunting task, especially when Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate to help with weather conditions.
