Sunset’s red glare

26 06 2026

Mother Nature’s “fire works” from Disappointment Valley looking northwest to Utah’s La Sal Mountains post-sunset.

No rain yesterday (dammit!), but that’s some crazy looking virga hanging from high and clearing clouds.

Those clouds are definitely in the category of high art! But seems they just want to be a bunch of pretty faces with no substance…ie. rain. Even so, that’s a gorgeous photo, TJ!

We had up to a 70% chance of rain yesterday. … SEVENTY percent! And we got zilch. 😦 The weather wizards were so optimistic about today that they tanked the rain chances early. Ha. Ugh. Yeah … no substance, indeed. Gorgeous sunset, small consolation.

Wonderful picture! Looks like something out of a science fiction movie!

Kinda does, doesn’t it?! I was just happy to see lit clouds over the mountains. Because they’re northwest to the western sunset path, it’s usually hard to get clouds lighting up over them, which is the most photogenic, of course. 🙂

Crazy, right? But truly, not a hint of AI, aka unreality. 😉
