That’s the sun, sinking through a mixture of smoke and dust. The rim of earth is Spring Creek Basin’s western rimrock boundary.

The sky? Well, that was just Mother Nature showing off. 🙂

Mustangs were below … but I couldn’t fit them in the image.

Those blood-red smoke sunsets are certainly striking but they are a bittersweet kind of beauty. Rain down south, rain up north, but no rain on us. Wish this predictable and tired pattern would change! 😮‍💨

That smoke is no joke (despite the rhyme). A whole band of it was across the western/northwestern horizon again tonight. Very obviously from the very huge Dragon Bravo Fire at the Grand Canyon. 😦
