Be still my so-in-love heart.
I have been in complete love with Storm (sorry human men; you really don’t stand a chance) since the moment I saw him, bright-copper-penny red with a huge blaze, hind stockings and still-tipped ears, standing with his mama Alpha, dried blood still reddening her hind legs, sweet, divine look on her face as she stood calmly with her spunky baby boy.
That was back in the days when I had to drive two hours to get to the basin and was camping in my Jeep. I have watched him grow up and into a marvelous band stallion, watching over his own mares and spunky foals.
As much as I love them ALL, Storm is my boy. He makes my heart big enough to love them all, and that’s pretty amazing.

Wow, TJ. You’re history with him – from his very arrival to this day – is very touching. Seeing these guys from the moment they begin life would be pretty special. Storm IS a magnificent, handsome stallion. Was his mom Alpha part of a one of the old round-up/removals?
He was at least many hours old (I still haven’t ever seen an actual birth!), but it was wonderful and still is, no matter how old the babies are when I see them. 😊 Alpha was removed in 2011. Fortunately, she’s with me now (for the last many years). I love HER and tell her often about her son and grandbabies!
Glad his mom had a home to go to rather than some feedlot like many today.
Oh, I’m SO glad to hear this, TJ! If she cannot be wild and free in the Basin, she can be in a no better place than wild and free with you! Excellent.
I totally understand how you fell in love with him
Right?! 😊
Handsome Storm!!
Isn’t he? 🥰
He is quite the looker.
He has that power look, don’t mess with me!
You are so blessed to be able to share space with these magnificent horses. You see the cycle of life with them. From birth to adulthood. ❤️😊
That look gives many another stallion pause … though the youngsters try anyway. 😉 I am SO blessed, and I never, ever forget it.
He really is handsome! I can see why you love him!
🥰 He’s my boy.
