Mysterium is squinty-eyed with the sleepies on a wonderful autumn evening under Temple Butte in Spring Creek Basin.
It was a night for layers! We’ve had a low temp in the 30s now in the basin and low country of Disappointment Valley. Gettin’ nippy.

Thank you for this photo of Mysterium, TJ! Been awhile since the last sightng. And yes – 30’s at night now! My garden is on borrowed time. ☹️
I saw them a lot this summer, when they were around a particular water source, then they went back to their wily ways. I do so love seeing them. These warm days and chilly nights are perfect – the trees seem to think so, too!
A great time for a fall nap!
Oh my gosh, yes!!
I love his name.
She was named by a 14-year-old girl from Canada who won a “contest” I had about guessing her birthdate way long ago. 🙂
That’s so cool! OK, now I have two favorite names/mares — Mysterium and Seneca. ❤️
That itself is cool. They’re both super laid-back, gentle mares. 🙂
I wish I could just hang out with them…
All ya gotta do is come visit. 🙂
