Through the blooms

As noted, it’s a good year for the prince’s plume, which continues to flourish. While it’s there to admire, giving color to our landscape and mustangs, I’ll continue to take photographic advantage of it.

And I’m glad you ‘re taking “photographic advantage of it,” TJ! What an absolutely stunning year it has been for prince’s plume and other wildflowers. Thanks for bringing it to us!

Curious, so I learned this this morning about your Princes Plume- β€œ The seeds can be ground and used in soups or other dishes. Indiegnous Americans used prince’s plume root to help treat rheumatic pain, toothaches, and earaches.” 😎

That’s cool! The horses don’t seem to eat the prince’s plume like they do some other flowers (they really like the sunflowers that’ll bloom later this summer!), but it’s always amazing to learn the healing properties of the plants around us!

I need to make time to visit. It’s been a three years since I was last there.

This is the best time to visit! Green … wildflowers … mustangs! The roads are dry … but I don’t recommend going around the loop unless you’re using an ATV or UTV (rough, a couple of tight places and one really steep).
