Colorado hasn’t yet received the message that spring sprang – by the calendar – a few days ago. Which isn’t much of a surprise: No human calendar means a thing to Mother Nature. Also, I think she likes being in charge, and to remind of the same. π
(The above pic was taken yesterday late afternoon.)
Well YUCK! We are getting cold and rain – really lousy & they are saying snow showers later – hopefully not the kind the horses are dealing with!
It didn’t last very long – maybe an hour. We need the winter moisture for the rest of our year. Hope your weather turns warm soon.
Marching out like a lion for sure ! At least itβs additional moisture π
Exactly! I think of our usual, too-dry weather … and I delight in the moisture we’ve received this winter – and hopefully into the spring!
Ha. That looks like spring at our house! π Seems those mustangs will need their winter coats a bit longer. But my goodness, won’t their ponds look good this spring!
We got such RAIN a couple of days ago that had Spring Creek and Disappointment Creek and ALL the arroyos running with water. Hopefully some of the drainages directed some of that water directly into ponds, and I know roofs and aprons caught water for tanks to bank for this summer. π
So glad for moisture of any kind!
YES! π
My goodness. It will stop some day!
Ha – I’m OK with spring warming, but I hope the moisture flow doesn’t stop! (Though I think the longer-term forecast shows a cessation coming soon. …)
That came our way too. Sunny this morning here and hoping the same for yβall ππ

Yes, same sunny, brilliant morning … and coooollllldddd temps. π
Rats. Horses. Open space, Snow. You know what that says to me. Maybe I’m just afraid to paint them.
Once you start, you won’t be able to stop. … π
Is it OK if I copy the picture to my laptop? This could be serious.
Some obsessions are perfectly healthy. π Go for it!
Hi TJ: Your pictures are wonderful. I was thinking about coming out to refuge Thursday and Friday. Are the roads navigable? Thanks, Gary Ratcliff
Thanks, Gary. π We have had a LOT of moisture this winter, and the roads are still mostly wet. In places, they’re *at least* damp, and most of the basin is still plenty muddy. To add to that, we have rain/snow in the forecast again Thursday. Consider waiting just a bit longer into spring!
Thanks for the update TJ. Looking forward to seeing the horses! I’ll touch base with you in April. Gary
That’ll work!
