Elder Aspen cuts a dashing figure against the rimrocks of Spring Creek canyon in the far western part of Spring Creek Basin.
He’s starting to show his age, and he moves slowly and deliberately through the snow (not much *dashing* for him, really), but for a mustang that I’d guess to be in at least his mid-20s, he’s looking pretty fine, indeed.
I just love Aspen and it’s so nice to see him again! I can’t believe that he’s one of the “elders” now and hope he still has many good years left! Thanks for this photo, TJ.
He’s with a band currently, but usually, he likes to keep to himself. Doesn’t like the chaos of the social goings-on. 🙂 But he’s doing well, and it’s nice to see him with some company.
It always amazes me that even in the HMAs, there are a good many “elders” – horses that live into their 30s.
We’ve had our fair share here. I’m grateful.
Oh Aspen, I’m not dashing any more, either. Your visage gives me some sage advice. Keep sauntering.
Well said. 🙂 The old ones have good advice for us, if we pay attention!
Yep. ❤️
He is still looking good!
He does look pretty good. A bit lean … but healthy and able. 🙂
So much to say for fine aged wisdom!

Agreed. 🙂
Glad to see this today…some how I missed it yesterday. He is strikingly handsome♥️
Again thank you!
