Wind-day napping

21 06 2022

Wind and smoke and haze, back.

But we also got rain. 🙂 Not much. Enough to dampen the dust … until the wind picked up the next day … this day, pictured.

We’ll take whatever we can get.

I wrote a poem about that. It’s called “Too Much of a Good Thing” a bout a torrential rain in SD and Nebraska that killed cattle and flattened bridges. It was meant as a consolation to us for our current drought. “Any lovin’s good lovin'” they say…

It’s all a matter of perspective, eh? We’re dying for a drop … and torrents are causing devastation elsewhere.

it’s insane. We’ve had an unusual cool day and the dogs and I took advantage of it. What a relief. They’re predicting heavy rain which now means more than 20 drops in any one place.

Cooler here, too, and we got a nice little drizzle today. I hope your “heavy” rain means more than 20 drops. … Twenty-hundredths would be nice!

Sometimes a good nap is just the thing to pass the dusty, hazy, windy hours! Wish we’d had much more rain too, but you’re right, TJ – we’ll take whatever we can get. Looks like most of the moisture went north…like usual.

The forecast says more is coming. … Hoping, praying, cajoling, crossing and dancing!
