Dark ponies watch a scuffle between their stallion and another band down the ridge and across a seepy arroyo.
There’s not nearly enough snow on the far slopes of Utah’s La Sal Mountains. They rise above deserts in all directions, but they should be gowned in snow by now.
Let’s hope the snow comes this week!
Your wish was heard by Mother Nature! ๐
Thank goodness for the water catchments.
Right?! We got some more good moisture to add to the tanks!
No snow in Illinois either.
>
Yikes. You’d think northern Illinois would be white by now!
Hoping for snow!
We got some! Ready for more! ๐
That is a captured audience I would say! And yes. La Nina is killing us already. Makes the heart heavy for sure. ๐
We’re sure off to an anxiety-inducing start. Hopefully it will get better!
Beautiful pic. I have traveled ‘west’ towards Pikes Peak more times than usual over the past two weeks, and with heavy heart, see the ‘rather bare’ looking Peak – for this time of year – – I still have hope in my heart, and snow is forecasted for us, possibly, this week – but I’m not holding my breath – overall – sigh – – And not even contemplating doing a ‘snow dance/prayer’ though I may try to wash my truck windows or start a garden project or something, just so Mother Nature sends snow my way with a “What were you thinking???” message! LOL — I think I can sacrifice a few seeds for that!
We’ve been looking for snow on Utah’s La Sal Mountains for a while now, too. Good luck with the truck windows and the garden project! ๐ I don’t have enough water to wash my truck or start a garden. I’m afraid Ma Nature would see right through those attempts!
I try to grow things that need water the first week or too to get started and then are drought hardy. Amaranth if it gets hot enough! Is awesome for that as are lilac, wild roses, native plums, rhubarb, irises, etc. veggies? Not so much!! Lol. And i dint wash my truck other than cleaning the windshield save once a year or three. Lol. But let me do water amonia mix to clean windows and moisture shows up!!! Lol. That said we had pretty snow fall for a bit today which promptly melted and or was cold dry and blew away! Sigh. But for about 20 minutes we had a pretty christmas like snow falling straight down. Lol
