Those mountains – Utah’s La Sal Mountains – have lovely capes of white now. It’s fascinating how that little (!) difference makes them look even closer (is that like painting a room a light color makes it look bigger? maybe I’m getting that wrong …).
Do you think Maia enjoys having them, ever fixed, on the horizon of her range-homeland (home-rangeland?)?
Today is the last day of this year’s third rifle hunting season. If I may take the liberty of saying so, we’re all going to enjoy our peaceful horizons, hunter-free, in just a few more hours.
Great pic. Glad hunting is done. And all the noise and trucks up and down the road.
Me, too!!!!!!
I sure can sympathize regarding hunting season – our gun(deer) season starts shortly before Thanksgiving, I think. Have lost track of exact date since no one in my family hunts. Hoping my small family of local deer survives it & stays safe closeby on posted land. I’m afraid with the virus & unemployed people, there might be more people trying to get meat for their table – which scares me because they wont be experienced hunters – worry for the deer AND for the people who might not know what they are doing!
It’s always a tense season.
Hoping for peace and quiet and safety for all, man and beast!
Thank you – us, too!
I always wonder what they’re thinking when they stare into the distance.

So do I. 🙂
YES! No more deer and elk hunting for awhile now, and I DO look forward to all that peace and guiet out there – and everywhere else those critters roam.
There’s still fourth season … which, thankfully, is less madhouse here in Disappointment than third.
