Teeny critter

4 08 2020

This little critter is easier to see (well, kinda) – and standing nearly right over him/her, the lens is zoomed in as much as possible. S/he was TINY. About the size of the end of my finger, maybe. The only reason I saw it was because of the motion of it, scuttling around on those little baby legs. Fast! I got only three pix snapped, and only one – this one – was even slightly in focus.

If it hadn’t been scuttling around, I certainly could have stepped on it. I’ve been watching the ground a little more carefully these days since my recent snake sighting! πŸ™‚

It seems weird to call a scaly, horned little lizard a “cutie” … but it totally is!

I saw one of those today out in the desert here. I have not seen one in years! The one I saw was pretty cooperative, I lucked out. They are so darn cute!

Ha – that’s what I thought, too – cute! I wanted to pick it up … then thought, “what am I thinking?!” I couldn’t have caught it if I’d tried – way too fast! Can’t believe you haven’t seen more of them?!

We’ve seen a few of those around too, TJ. They are so dang cute – like all babies! Great photo of this one.

Ha – I once saw a wildlife biologist pick one up and rub its belly. I can’t say for sure, but the darn thing seemed to enjoy it!
