Shadow

While it looks like Shadow is walking through knee-deep snow … well, she is. But her knees aren’t all that far above the ground. She’s really short. πŸ™‚

We do have some drifts that are a little deep-ish still, but our snow is melting quickly under 40-plus-degree temperatures and lots of high-country sunshine.

That said, this photo was taken just minutes after a pelting graupel storm. And this sunlight lasted just minutes before the sun slipped below the ridge, ending another beautiful day in the basin.

Here’s a crazy-cool thing: While hiking into Spring Creek Basin, it was a little shocking and then pretty awesome to see that some horses had used my snowshoe track from a couple of days earlier! How often do you get to break trail for mustangs? πŸ™‚

Hi TJ
Great to see the moisture but we need it to dry up a bit by the end of March πŸ™‚ I’m loving AZ. I’ll be back mid Feb and we can make some plans for Kathe’s fence.

It probably will dry up a bit by then, but we NEED all the moisture we can get in this very dry corner of the world! Enjoy your riding in dry Arizona! πŸ™‚

I like this idea – breaking trail for the mustangs! And Prairie girl is right, “a path of love” it is. Snowshoes or snow boots TJ?

Regular hiking boots. Just strap in! πŸ™‚
