Airs above ground

Bounce levitates during a chase by Comanche.

Comanche chased Bounce away from his band. Bounce kicked at Comanche on the run.

This frame caught him as he seemed to defy gravity. It was enough to throw Comanche off the pursuit, and Bounce escaped hale and whole.

AMAZING photo!!! Great ‘catch’!!! It looks like Comanche is expecting that kick.

I’d have to look at the sequence of photos again, but I think Bounce may already have kicked back at this point. I give the camera credit on this one. πŸ™‚

Bounce is one athletic boy (they all are, really)!

Really shows the life of the stallions.

Usually, they’re pretty calm! Elder Bounce is a satellite or lieutenant stallion now, and he rarely gets caught close enough for Comanche to take notice and chase him.

One of my first-ever photos of him showed him at the trot, completely suspended. As he has gotten older, he may have lost some of his bounce and swagger, but he can still turn on the speed when needed!

I love bounce! Comanche too, but it’s good to see Bounce still has it in him! πŸ™‚

You know what we saw a long while back is that Bounce (old when we last saw him) had what it takes to live wild and free and it makes our hearts sing to see he still has it! Cameras are just tools. It takes someone behind the lens who really understands (read, “breathes”) their subject to catch something like this! Gosh, this one is something to remember! We will and that’s a promise! πŸ™‚

I agree – what a memorable shot – and for those of us still learning, thank you TJ for the info about satellite or lieutenant – I love learning about how their social lives evolve…

An amazing snapshot, TJ. Wish I could have seen this one live in action.
