« Spring, spotted Shades of soft »

Beautiful, but, as you said, way too little snow. Sure wish my family in MA/ME/RI could send some. They’ve had over 60″ since December – and a storm nearly every other day since the first of the year!
Stunning pictures! Love the mountains and the deer … just an added bonus!
Beautiful! The weather today where I live is just like this :] I’ve been busy and unable to comment for awhile, but I’ve loved your recent posts- they’ve been very informative!
Beautiful pictures, as usual. Wish I could send you some snow. We just got 6 more inches on top of the 9 we got a few days ago. Hope some comes your way.
Last year, we had a lot of snow. This year, no measurable snow at all in January. Whoa. That’s crazy for us. I’m not feeling kindly toward Miss La Nina … but this is how it goes in the arid Southwest. Sometimes you get moisture … and sometimes you don’t. We still have lots of winter left (though I know some of you folks are wishing desperately for spring!).
I think we’re experiencing the same thing. It was like spring here today. I like it, but I don’t know if it’s a good thing.
Beautiful pictures!!!! The one of the deer could be blown up and hung on a wall.
TJ, I am doing a snow dance for you! Having survived the blizzard of 2011(I’ve experienced the top 3 blizzards in Chicago history!) it is snowing again this morning. So, while all this moisture is great for us, I would gladly send some your way. There is a LOT of snow here. hope a storm comes through soon out there.
Beautiful pictures as always.
Linda – That’s what it felt like here (for a week or more?) until the temps plummeted last week with that big front – unfortunately without the accompanying snow most other places got. Those deer were just a few of a LOT that ran up a hill when I came around another hill. They come to the basin only in the winter to escape the deep snows of higher elevations, then leave for the lush grass and clear water of those higher elevations!
Jan – Thank you! 🙂 I should have my brother up there doing the same (ha!). We had a tiny bit yesterday, centered over the mountains, that didn’t add up to any accumulation a the lower elevations (below probably 8,000). We have more in the forecast … My parents in Texas even got 2 inches of the stuff! How’s that for unfair?! Stay warm!
