I’m loving these blue-hour images. Seneca this time, performing a little criss-cross as she grazes her way down the hill. This was a little while before I took the pic of the other horses on the nearby ridge in yesterday’s post.
« Last light It takes a little rain … »
I like that, TJ – “blue-hour images.” They are so pretty and have this quiet, calm mood about them. And who could resist gray Seneca as a focal point!
“Blue hour” is not a phrase of my own making; it’s a *thing*, like morning and evening light “golden hour.” Blue hour(s) are the times before sunrise and after sunset. I have often admired the light in those times, but the camera doesn’t like that lack of light super well. 😉 Still … it’s doing a pretty good job if I take advantage of it!
Thanks, TJ. Very interesting – all part of photographer lingo! 😁
By the way – RAIN. It came and it’s glorious; hope your getting this too, TJ!
And YES! RAIN!!!!!! We’ve had about 0.32 inch total so far. 🙂 Super grateful!!! Glad that it reached ya’ll, too!
Love these beautiful blue tinted pictures! Hope you are getting rain!
We sure did. 🙂 And we’re so amazingly grateful for the moisture. It’s already greener as the sunshine starts to make an appearance.
Look at that hoof! No farrier needed here. The ground she walks takes good care of those feet.
I love seeing those blue hour photos too.
Exactly so! 🙂 I was hoping someone would notice her very perfect hoof. Wild is best!
I am a new subscriber and I am so loving the gift you give us of your glimpses of these moments with your family herd. In my experience as an equine artist and a horsewoman, and having spent time only with wild horses at sanctuaries, your attunement to these horses and them to you, is beyond compare. These aren’t just beautiful photographs of rare moments with horses an nature, these horses and wild places are your home and your family and their eye contact and demeanor whether in gentle moments like this or the stunning drama of their wild lives, FEELS like home to me. Thank you.
Thank you so very much, Kim! Your words brought me to (happy) tears because yes, these amazing mustangs ARE my home and family – my heart herd, I call them. 🙂 Most of them now have known me since they were born, and while we maintain our (hopefully) respectful distances, I am humbled by their acceptance and so grateful for it. Your art is gorgeous! (spiritofhorse.com for anyone who wants to enjoy Kim’s artistry.) Your love of horses – and their spirit 🙂 – comes through so noticeably! Thank you, and I’m glad you found our little herd!
Stunning!!
She’s always so beautiful. 🙂
