Why does Flash always look so grumpy? š
That’s not the intro to a joke; I really don’t know! He does take his band-stallion duties very seriously, and there were two other bands very nearby that evening. … But they were very quiet and peaceful, napping under a tree and a little beyond, both farther down the slope they were all occupying. A young stallion’s gotta be *on* all the time!
And maybe he’s also upset about our lack of winter moisture, though they were fairly near a pond that should have water (it did as of late last fall). Or maybe that’s just me!
Are the mares giving him the appreciation he craves? Mares can be grumpy, too!
Ha! They seem to be comfortable with him. He’s very earnest, though he’s fairly young. š
Now that he is a band stallion, he has serious business to attend to. A serious look for a serious boy. I love his crusty mud coat. š
He IS very serious. Maybe that’s the difference: He’s not grumpy, he’s serious! š They were very near a pond, so I’m sure they can walk in and roll in the mud!
Maybe his personality is grumpy! I know a few people like that!
I’m going to go with Sue’s suggestion that he’s *serious*. š Especially with the other bands very close, I think his focus was very much on their proximity!
Some people just have that resting grumpy look. Maybe mustang’s have that too? Or, he’s just a very serious dude? Either way he’s handsome even crusted in mud š
I think mostly it’s because he’s young, and his mares mostly are not, and they’re much more relaxed about things than he is. š He has a lot of time, still, to mature. š
