Sometimes, you never know who’s watching you when you think you’re all alone but the mustangs.
This red fox was a super cool sighting. I’ve seen them absolutely rarely, and I’m not sure I’ve seen (m)any in Spring Creek Basin before. I saw this handsome fellow or gal only because I caught some movement before s/he curled up in a ball to keep a bright eye on me as I was photographing some nearby mustangs.
I love foxes!
What a gorgeous photo, TJ! And what an absolutely perfect, beautiful fox! He or she is model-worthy; what a looker. We had a young, red fox helping himself at the bird feeder last week, and it was such a pleasure to watch him mine the grounds below the feeder for sunflower seeds. It’s always a treat to have these opportunities. And I love foxes too!
Indeed. A great reminder that we share THEIR homes. Their visits are a privilege. 🙂
Such a beautiful, intelligent gaze this sweet being has!!!! What is he/she thinking? If only he/she could speak!
Has there been any rain in the last couple days? Has Lluvia foaled yet?
Thoughts of Spring Creek Basin area with me constantly…
So honored to have walked with you, TJ, and seen all you do for those beautiful horses…

We’re so fortunate to have a wide variety of wild things in Disappointment Valley and Spring Creek Basin! No rain, unfortunately, and it’s even hotter than during your visit. We’d at least like some more clouds. 😉 It was my pleasure to meet ya’ll and introduce you to the basin and its magical residents!
What a great capture! I love seeing the foxes too. Usually it’s just a fleeting glance. They are very quick, and love to stay in in the shadows. I have caught them watching me from heavy brush on my walks. I feel so blessed when I see them.
Very clever little chaps! I thought this one was a coyote at first with those big ears. 🙂 Blessed are we, indeed, to catch even a glimpse of our wild neighbors!
What a cutie! Foxes are so good looking!
They sure are and provide such a service to their wild habitat. 🙂
I love these guys. They’re wonderful to watch and wonderful to draw. Out at the Refuge there is a family of foxes most of whom are black. One March day, in snow, one of them crossed my path in the snow and fog. It was like a dream.
Oh, how interesting about the different color. Sometimes, the foxes out here are very silver. This one had that shading, but there was a good bit of the red to it. Even a glimpse is something to treasure! 🙂
