Hollywood is not fat by any stretch … but he’s doing OK. In the pic above, he was with Sundance’s band (or nearby). I’ve seen him more recently with other elder Aspen and some youngsters … and following Sundance again.
Getting old sucks … but he’s doing OK.

He is a skinny binny for sure, but he’s still going and I like that he’s still seeking out “friends” with whom to spend his days. And yes, TJ, from one who knows – getting old does suck and doing “okay” is good! 😉

Glad to just see him still there. I’d like to see him with a friend but at least hes close to a band – not completely by himself.

He looks better than he did a month or more ago, so that’s a good sign. There’s LOTS to eat out there, and the water is fairly plentiful. Sundance has chased him away (and SunD is no spring chicken, either), but I don’t think he’s trying to steal mares or a band – at least he’s not putting a huge effort into it. … Still, old habits and instincts must die hard (or not at all?!). I’m always very glad to see him. I spotted him just last night, with Sundance’s band, from a distance.

I’m at the “young” end of old, and I’m feeling it. 🙂 I’m glad to see him showing interest in being around other horses.

If I’m right about his mother, who was introduced from Sand Wash Basin, Hollywood is 22 this year. He held a band – and a fairly big band, for a very long time, since he was about 5 (not as big then :)).

Sundance is still holding his little band together (his mares are devoted to him), but he’s also showing his age these days. Kinda interesting that those boys are semi together now, though I’d rather see him hanging out with Aspen, who seems to shun any “chaos.” 🙂 Other activities take energy – from them both.
Oh Hollywood! Hanging out close to others is okay. You don’t have to be in someone’s face to have company, and be a part of the group.
So true. 🙂 When I saw them yesterday, they were all peacefully grazing. Hopefully he can sort of settle in almost like a lieutenant, not a rival.
