I love meadowlarks. Ever since I lived in Montana and became aware of their distinctive liquid-gold trill of a spring song, I’ve loved these bright little birds. They also practically beg to be photographed! And yet, I am *not* a bird photographer, and though they’re bright, they’re also fast! I got this pic, another pic, then this pic:

And the next-to-last pic was one where I cut off the bird’s beak as s/he flew … and then one of the empty post. π
I love meadowlarks. π
(These pix were taken from my Jeep, through my passenger window. I heard its trill first, then spotted it on the fence post as I drove into Spring Creek Basin.)
I concur!
They’re fast little birds! π
Those wonderful birds are a favorite of mine too, TJ!βAnd I’d say, your two posted pics certify you as an authentic “bird photographer.” They’re beautiful – very Audubon-worthy!
The only way I got these pix is that it was very close and stayed on the post long enough for me to fumble about with my camera until a few seconds after I got a few pix clicked. π
I love these birds also! You did great on the pictures! Thanks!
My favorite birds of spring. π
I love them, too. Their song almost makes the advent of spring and summer bearable.
Ha – I adore their song. π
I loveβwatchingβbirds! I justβhaven’tβbeen ableβtoβcaptureβthem inβphotos . Yours came out great!
I usually can’t capture them in photos, either. This little gem took pity on me by being very close for just the time I needed. π
Great photos!βI love Meadowlarks as well.βNothing like sitting out at the barn and listening to them sing in the pastures.
Agreed. They’re just wonderful! π
