Mountain areas – Utah’s La Sals above – have lovely snow, but we don’t. And there’s a lot of brown expanse between here and there.
It’s an easy winter for the wild ones (so far?!), but it’s gonna be a tough summer (unless something changes PDQ).

We do have snow – maybe 6 inches? But usually then we get a warm spell & it all melts AND the ground gets soft! Hope it stays cold & snowy for a while – weird winter. On the other hand, I really would rather not have snow in April (we have before)!
Weird winter, indeed. I hope ours gets snowy – even if we get it in April (or later).
Hoping for some moisture soon! At least the horses will have plenty of drinking water thanks to the great BLM guys!
The catchments are awesome, but we need rain and snow to fill them! Mother Nature has to pull her weight. 🙂
We’re the same, TJ. Living in a brown land and longing for snow…or rain…something. El Nino has been kind to northern Colorado and New Mexico and northern Arizona, but inexplicably has passed us by. Praying for our share.
Yeah, what the heck!? Maybe we’re just last on the snow list this year?! 🙂
Amen to that.
Inexplicably, with almost zero moisture in the most recent past, we are down to just “abnormally dry” on the U.S. Drought Monitor?! You guys are in the “severe” category … down from “extreme”? I’m laughing so I don’t just bawl.
I guess we can call anything anything…
Not that I *want* us to be as dry as we are. … But it would be nice if the powers that be would acknowledge it. 😦
I always say a prayer for our mustangs and an abundance of waiter/snow for them👍

Thank you, Karen. 🙂
