What passes for snow

5 02 2024

Sunshine on Maia with little floaty bits of semi-frozen wet stuff known in our neck of the woods currently as snowflakes. (Ha?!) Not only did the waves of “snow” not dampen the ground, it actually dried out throughout the day, despite the many waves of, uh, “snow.”

So sorry you arent getting real snow!
We still are having warm (35) days & thank heavens, cold nights – so ground is sort of hard at least.

Comparison: Thirties here seem fairly “cold” now as we’re having temps in the *50s*. With the coming moisture, temps are supposed to drop to more seasonal (teens and 20s overnight – daytime temps in the 30s). We just need that moisture badly.

You’re right, TJ. These “storms” have been pretty underwhelming so far. Supposedly more on the way this week…uh-huh; I guess we’ll have to see. Even so, Maia is gorgeous all bathed in sun!

Hopefully the “atmospheric river” that’s hitting California and causing flooding (!) will reach us with some of that moisture (and hopefully not in devastating quantities).

Same here. After our most recent “snow” it is actually dryer than it was before.

Isn’t that crazy?! I don’t understand how it could possibly be?!

It’s just crazy. The day before the last snow we went out and there were patches of snow everywhere for Bear to roll in. The morning after the storm (storm in the night) there was ONE patch and basically none on the ground. All I can guess is somewhere in there it rained. I don’t know. But it’s scary.
