The dustup of stallions doesn’t bother most mares – or even get their (immediate?) attention.
We’re still dry enough to raise dust when there’s activity among the horses. I was trying to get pix of Madison’s beautiful, healthful dapples, which show up best only in certain light angles; barring that, this is a different kind of image … and still shows her gorgeous, if somewhat piqued by stallion ruckus.
She has that look. A kind of “Oh please. Not this again.” expression. 😆 And you’re right, TJ; she does still show “her gorgeous!” She is so beautiful.
I love Madison. She tends to be one of those “overlooked bays” … but in her case, I think it’s more because she’s just so *always there* rather than her color. The other mares in the band are her best friends, and the younger girls completely follow her as their “auntie” (one is actually related – their mothers descend from the same mare(s)). Beautiful, wise, lovely girl. 🙂
She is thinking oh well, that’s guys, they never grow up.
Ha! Your comment made me laugh right out loud. 🙂 Funny, sometimes, eh, the similarity between species?!
I love this horse. I guess that’s why I painted her…I think it was her. She’s so beautiful and her face is wise and lovely.
I think that was Micha in the pic you painted with the falling snow, but she’s in Madison’s band, the daughter of Madi’s best friend. 🙂 And yes, very beautiful and wise and lovely!!
I will change the name of the painting to Micha in a Spring Snow. ❤️
🙂
Such a horse!
One of our maternal founts of wisdom that keeps not on her band going but contributes to the health of the whole herd.
Love seeing pictures of her anytime 🙂
I need to try to capture her dapples and dimples! 🙂 She’s plump!!
