Spring Creek Basin Mustangs 
An odd question, Have you ever found fairy knots on the ground while out watching the mustangs?
That’s actually a great question, and yes, I have! Eventually, the horses will snag them on something, or, if they’re really long, a horse might step on one while grazing and pull it out. Mostly, I spot the grey/white mane hair, but just recently, I found a short strand of black.
Do you take them home? I think that would be so cool.
No. I think the birds would make better use of them in their nests. 😊
They would make an excellent addition to a nest. ☺️
Fairy knots?? Pieces of the horse’s mane??? Never heard them called that – but then no wild horses right here either!
Fairy knots, witch’s knots, wind knots … simply braids. All sorts of names for their nature-caused tangles.
