Hollywood made an appearance the other day, near the bands near the wildcat valley water catchment. It was good to see him … and good to see him there.
His eye doesn’t look any better, but the big hunk out of his hindquarters is healing and closing. He’s still lean, but he’s doing all right.
I am glad you saw him and that he is healing.
He’s definitely keeping to the edges. Kestrel’s the one who alerted me that something was in the trees up the hill because she kept focusing on something. Then I heard a snort, and I was pretty sure it was Hollywood … so I went looking until I found him. I’m always glad to see him … but it’s bittersweet these days.
So glad Hollywood is still hanging in there and his wound is getting better. Poor guy. His “broken” eye is just so sad, and he does look thin; I hope he’ll be alright. It’s encouraging that you see him now and then in your Basin ramblings, TJ.
I hope so. He’s definitely in the area with the first new water catchment. He’s around the other horses but doesn’t seem to have any interest in mingling. I hope he’s just eating and resting and eating some more.
He does appear to be thin BUT he looks bright eyed – even with his hurt one. So relieved to see him looking that well.
He seems to have aged a lot in the last couple of months, without his band. But I’m also relieved to see him doing all right.
Really wish he wasnt alone – herd animals NEED their own herds – even if its just one buddy.
Hope the old warrior has many peaceful years left in retirement!
Oh, so do I! So do I. 🙂
❤️
So glad to see him and see he is ok. Always appreciated.
I know how you feel. 🙂
Thanks for the update. We’ve been wondering if he might just “know” where he is and how he is and is OK with it all… Our positive and loving thoughts are with him every day!
The mustangs do live in the moment. Not much sense wondering or worrying about how things will turn out – they don’t even know how to think in those terms. We humans do enough worrying. 🙂 Thanks for thinking of him!
Always! He and everyone there!
