Distinguished Flash, once black and white, is fading to grey and white faster than seems possible.
I don’t like to hurry seasons along, but as it gets even hotter and even more dry in Southwest Colorado (sorry, weather people, but it’s true; we’re way past “just a little dry”), I hope we’re fading through July and ever closer to our summer monsoon season. We never count on it, of course; we got monsoons last year and the year before for the first times in several years, and we were ecstatic. We’ll be ecstatic again – if they come – because we need the rains desperately (as always).

Even though he’s fading to grey, he’s still displaying enough of his unique color pattern to be the Flash we love. Hate to see him lose that distinctive look of his! We’ll have to treasure every precious sighting.
Also all true. 🙂 He’s still going to be pretty flashy, I think, with his long forelock and mane.

Waiting… clouds today seem to promise rain. Horse tail clouds.
Any rain for you? We got a spit and a drizzle (light on both) last night. … I’d hoped for more, but it didn’t even wet the ground in most places – nor did it leave even a drop in the rain gauge.
Allegedly it drizzled last night, but I don’t believe it. The clouds have gathered today, but I think it’s just a tease.
A week ago, we had chances for rain for today (not yesterday). … I never believe it until I feel it, either. I felt a curious “mist” on my arms … but that was it. I think the weather people think virga is actually rain. 😛
It’s raining right now, legit rain. We’ll see how long it lasts.

Yay!!! I hope for you and the horses and me and the — I dunno, farms? — it’s a sign of more to come. Bear is terrified of thunder so we all three hunkered down together. Sweet but on the hairy side…
Just as I thought it was over, the rain REALLY came down! Teeny little floods! I bet all the arroyos are running, and I know the catchment tanks are up a couple of inches. 🙂 Woo hoo! I hope it’s a sign of more to come for us and for ya’ll. Hopefully Bear likes the cool, post-thunder air more than he hated the thunder!
