Finally, it was nap time for the whole band, but instead of lying down, they congregated under this gorgeous pine tree on the far edge of the meadow from where they’d been when I first saw them. … Oddly enough, the presence of my Jeep, parked nearby (I was not aware that this was their favorite tree in the whole meadow!), didn’t deter them.
This was my cue to take my leave of these gorgeous wild lovelies in their stunning mountain home.
Almost. π
TJ, this series highlighting the wild horses of Green Mountain has been a treasure!
Iβm thrilled you got to spend some good leisurely time in the big meadow.
Itβs a wonderful place to sit and observe, you have your pick of giant rocks to rest. And did you notice the variety of wild flowers that grace that meadow? And of course those pine trees!
Thank you so much for showcasing these special families.
Come back soon! xo
Oh, yes! It was an absolute joy to spend that quiet, peaceful time with these two bands (and a few bachelors lurking on the edge of the meadow, just at the trees). The rocks, the lupine, the grass (!) … the setting was perfect in which to watch these wild horses doing what they do, in the middle of the secret wild. π Thank you SO much for literally giving me a map to that world! π π π
Thanks,TJ. I really enjoyed seeing these beautiful horses!
I’m so glad! I loved to show them off! π
This is such a great photo, TJ! I love the way the horses are all congregating together in the shade of that beautiful pine. Those mustangs and that tree were made for each other. π
Exactly! I thought I was staying out of their way to drive to the far side of the meadow (following a faint doubletrack), and then they made their way right to that tree. π What a beautiful day. π
Beautiful!
