Storm and Tenaz

We’re leaping for joy: The busiest hunting season is over. The last one starts Wednesday, but the traffic in Disappointment Valley should be light compared with this just-past season.

TJ, I meant to ask if horses are ever injured as a result of hunting?

Fortunately, we haven’t had any hunting-related injuries since I’ve been involved, but the increased traffic – 10 observed vehicles during just an hour-and-a-half-visit the first day of third season vs. one vehicle (mine) the other 51 weeks of the year?! – disturbs the horses noticeably.

“Leaping for joy”, as are we TJ. Quiet and solitude resumes for the horses, and Old Blue (our ancient Toyota Truck) survived his surgery, so a nice trip back out to the Basin is in the near future!

Glad to hear the good news about Old Blue that will allow you to get back to the basin to see the mustangs! I’m looking forward to quiet trips again, too. πŸ™‚
